Ines Boechat, MD, FACR, Professor of Radiology and Pediatrics and Chief of Pediatric Imaging at the Geffen School of Medicine, was elected President of the Society for Pediatric Radiology for the year 2008. The SPR is an organization with 1400 members, dedicated to being a leader in advancing pediatric health care through medical imaging and image-related therapy. Dr. Boechat is the second University of California faculty to receive such a distinction.

The department offers comprehensive radiological services for the pediatric patient. Pediatric inpatients are examined in the Medical Center, and outpatients are examined in the Pediatric Radiology Center in the Peter Morton Medical Building (200 UCLA Medical Plaza). Subspecialized pediatric radiologists and technologists use the latest technology in CT, MRI, ultrasound, and general radiography in the diagnosis of pediatric diseases and pathological conditions.
