The National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) program is dedicated to increasing awareness of breast cancer issues, especially the importance of early detection through a nationwide campaign. Three UCLA Breast Imaging Radiologists join the forces to spread the message in the media.

Dr. Lawrence Bassett appeared on a new TV-talk show, The Doctors, to discuss what you can do to reduce your risk of terminal breast cancer by 30 percent. He also talked about new breast imaging technologies.

Dr. Nanette DeBruhl appeared on Fox-Channel 11 to talk about the importance of breast cancer screenings, testing and treatments as a prelude to Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

Dr. Anne Hoyt commented in a KABC- Channel 7 segment on strategies to prevent breast cancer through the various stages of a woman's life. Women should begin annual screening mammography at age 40.
