Research Interests
Dr. David Lu's research work focused mainly in the development of cutting edge technology in abdominal imaging and local ablation techniques, both in human and animal experimental models. Under the directorship of Dr. Lu, the UCLA Liver Imaging and Tumor Ablation Program flourished, and it is now one of the largest in the US and world-renowned. This is largely due to his philosophy of excellence through synergy between cutting edge imaging techniques and innovations in intervention.
Current Research Projects
Local Ablative Therapy for Abdominal Malignancies
Image Guidance Techniques for Interventional Oncology
Applications of MDCT, PET CT, and Dual Source CT in the Abdomen
Applications of New MR Techniques in the Abdomen
Applications of New Ultrasound Techniques in the Abdomen
Isaac Sanders Honorary Lecturer: "Interventional Oncology: The Time Has Come"
Dr. Lu presented various minmally invasive and image-guided treatment techniques in cancer therapy and provided insights and data in evidence based interventional oncology treatments so that radiologists can incorporate or expand interventional oncology into their daily practice.
