| Procedure Preparation: CT |
|
|
- Wear comfortable clothing free of zippers, metalic buttons and snaps as well as jewelry that could interfere with your scan. Elastic Waist Bands and Sports Bras are acceptable.
- Please notify your doctor if you have any allergy to iodine or intravenous contrast, if so you need to be pre-medicated 24 hours prior to your exam and will need a driver. Your physician must call (310) 301-6800 for pre-medication instructions.
- For diabetic patients: If you are takeing GLUCOVANCE, GLUCOPHAGE or METFORMIN (generic), you will need to stop taking these medications the day of your examination and up to a minimum of 48 hours after the examination. Please notify your doctor for replacement medicines.
- Female patients must notify their physician if they are or think they might be pregnant, for further instructions.
- Patients with a minimum of ONE "Yes" or "Don't Know" answer for the following questions will required Creatinine lab results within 6 weeks of the study.

| CT Abdominal-Pelvis IV and Oral Preparation: |
- Avoid food or drink 3 hours before the scheduled exam.
- Patient must arrive 1 hour prior to the scheduled exam.

| CT Angio Cardiac Preparation: |
- Avoid Caffeine, 4 hours prior to the scheduled exam time
- Avoid food or drink 3 hours before the scheduled exam time.
- Patient must arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled exam.

| CT Virtual Colonography with IV Contrast Preparation: |
- Patient must call (310) 825-8684 to pick up preparation kit 3 days prior to scheduled exam date.
- Patient must arrive 1 hour prior to the scheduled exam time to allow adequate time for processing and preparation purposes.

| CT Perfusion Study with Diamox Preparation: |
- Avoid food or drink 3 hours before the scheduled exam time.
- Patient must arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled exam time to allow adequate time for processing and preparation purposes.

| CT Radiation Treatment Planning: |
- PATIENT MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A RADIATION TREATMENT THERAPIST.
- Patient must arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled exam time to allow adequate time for processing and preparation purposes.
